Morgan,
Awesome news! Congrats! I have been following Kayaking.org like a hawk and must say I am impressed. I am even more impressed with the great blogging you have been doing around this project. I have certainly learned a lot and this is just one reason MorganLinton.com continues to be one of my favorite blogs.
All the best,
Ian

@Jeff,

by competing for low to moderate keyword phrases, he's able to manipulate search niches that aren't saturated with competitors. It's a great way to generate traffic & progressively build rank. As the traffic stream increases, the site becomes more competitive for it's other keywords.
Congrats Morgan!

Adsense has never worked for me. I continue to receive clicks on my blog, but the amount stays the same. It has been this way since last Winter. I'm thinking about removing Adsense to focus more on Affiliates. You'll make much more dealing with a company than to have Adsense generate advertisements.

@Morgan,
How much time do you put into the KayaKing.org website? I have a few great ideas, but lack the web developing skills to build the websites. My skills are more geared toward writing and information.

Have you ever visited WebsiteOutlook.com? What would it cost to develop a website such as that? To use information gathered information from other websites, would I have to contact website owners to obtain a html code?

I have a two great ideas, but I don't know where to look for help. I already know exactly how the website will look, and what information it will supply to visitors. Most of my ideas sit around collecting cyberdust. Thanks.

Congrats on your continued progress. I followed your recommendation to reach out to sites which rank for your targeted keywords and realized that in the process I could be indirectly be seeking out advertising placements as well. One company already responded that they would contact their webmaster because my site was a good fit for their business. They added however, could you include my business in the ___ section of your site? I responded that that section was intended for paid listings but I could include the site for now until my site builds up traffic. (kind of a delicate balance but if I give away free listings then the only way my site will ever make any money is Adsense) Anyway we'll see if I get further inquiries like this from my link exchange requests.
