Pardon the ugly analogy but IMO, Facebook is pot (the gateway drug), Twitter is crack, and FriendFeed is heroin. RT @Wesmax27

It is hard to have a conversation on Twitter. The real action is happening on FF. For that reason, you might want to keep your IDs consistent across platforms.

To keep feeds clean, I don’t use Twitter to feed elsewhere. Feeds start: Meebo>Jabber (Gtalk)>Identi.ca>FriendFeed

Identi.ca also feeds to Twitter and Ning.

Replies and nonsense on Twitter thereby stay out of FF and Ning.

"This means more people actively adding their own content to the Internet."

Unfortunately the majority of that content seems to be mundane tripe or advertising.

Twitter looks good! Many domainers and generally people all over the world are starting to use it. Very nice concept I have to say.

After hearing all the twitter chatter, I finally created an account and am now following about 30 or so people. Many of them post several tweets a day, so at the end of a given day, I could have several hundred tweets I haven't read yet. How does one keep up with hundreds (or in come case thousands) of tweets a day of people they are following? Isn't it information overload that almost makes twitter useless?

While Twitter is the most popular microblogging service, it isn't the only one. Identi.ca, for example, runs off of open source software that lets you run your own microblogging service on your own server (http://identi.ca) (http://laconi.ca). Think of it as "wordpress" for microblogging.

I'm giving it a try as well... Will try to make it work. We'll see how it goes though and whether worth the participation.

It is pretty fun and casual.

Your post relates directly to an experience I had a few minutes ago. Last month I set up a Twitter account for a future project and made one post. Just logged in and checked it for the first time and there are already ten followers. Two appeared to be random followspammers, but the rest are good matches and must have found the account by searching on keywords included in the bio.

Couldn't agree more that that ability to create a micro-presence is a very powerful thing!

See you on Twitter! <a href="http://www.twitter.com/domaintweeter" rel="nofollow">DomainTweeter</a>

Love some great tweats from fellow domainers especially during the Mardi Gras live auction.

Last year during christmas namecheap where running an excellent promotion triva game with the correct answer recieving a free domain name truely an orginal way to get customers and followers :)
