Silicon Beachfest 2013 Is Rocking LA – Demand Media Gets The Party Started Tonight

Silicon Beachfest 2013

Silicon Beachfest is officially on with the first day kicking-off with events all over LA’s startup hub, aptly named Silicon Beach. For those who don’t know the area very well the whole LA tech scene is all happening in and around Santa Monica/Venice and this is one of the reasons we decided to start and run Fashion Metric in Marina del Rey so we could be a part of the quickly growing Silicon Beach community.

It’s always awesome to have a big event like this going on in your neighborhood and while we won’t be attending all day every day since Fashion Metric takes up just about every waking moment, we are going to make it to a few of the parties and panels. Tomorrow there are some awesome Fashion Tech-related panels that we’ll definitely be attending along with the Fashion party which should be a blast.

Tonight Demand Media is hosting a party at the Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica and we’re looking forward to it. Most of the events are less than ten minutes from our place so we’ll be working and dipping out to events which should make the next few days pretty intense, but in a good way.

Hats off to Kevin Winston and the whole team at Digital LA for making it all possible, Kevin is one of the hardest-working people on the planet and to pull off an event this massive you really need someone like him at the helm. While I won’t personally be doing any blogging of the events or panels I’ll try to post some highlights from other blogs and news sources that cover the event so those of you who can’t be here can still feel like you’re a part of the action.

2013 has been a banner year for Silicon Beach and it’s only getting better!
