vLog #2: Domaining and ccTLDs

by Morgan on March 12, 2009

In my second video blog entry I discuss ccTLD’s and the launch of Rick Latona’s new forum, ccTLDs.com. The goal of this video is to give domain investors some important fundamentals about ccTLDs and important things to consider when thinking of investing in a ccTLD. I also discuss some specific ccTLD’s that I am interested in like .ar and .ru. At the end of the video I briefly discuss ccTLD’s and SEO as well.

I hope you enjoy my second vLog and send along your feedback with things you liked – or things you think I could do better! The video blog concept is a new one for me so still adapting to the format. Hopefully these videos will help inspire more people to become involved with Domaining and help grow our industry as a whole. All of my videos are available publicly via Vimeo.com and may be used on any website or blog as long as the video itself is not changed in any way.

that was extremely interesting….I wonder if you have anything to say about new TLDs such as .jobs, .tel, .tv, .travel??

Thanks! I can’t say I know much about these outside of .tv which I’m a BIG fan of.

What do you think about .DO (Dominican Republic) domains
Right now one can only register .COM.DO, NET.DO etc.

But eventually they will do the same as mexico and going to EXAMPLE.DO domains

Just imagine domains like:
http://www.women.do
http://www.games.do
http://www.I.do
http://www.we.do
http://www.yes.do
http://www.lets.do
http://www.wanna.do
http://www.men.do

etc etc etc I think that because “DO” is a verb in english and because the “DO” is a verb that invite to action can be very commercial.

.ME it is only for personal sites. I see a potential .DO as more community or commercial thing.

I think that before the end of 2010 we will have .DO domains

Note: I have many of this premiums domains
