Weekend Musings

Hello, happy Sunday and welcome to my weekend musings. This weekend, like last weekend, we spent most of our time working on getting our new office setup. Saturday started with a trip to Home Depot to buy shower board which surprisingly can be used as whiteboards for a fraction of the cost.

DIY Whiteboards

One thing we’ve learned setting up our new office is that whiteboards are expensive, crazy expensive. We need big whiteboards for our office and a 72″ x 48″ whiteboard is a whopping $258 on Amazon. Since we want ever bigger whiteboards than this  it would cost us over $1,000 to put new whiteboards in our office.

Enter DIY Whiteboards thanks to a bit of a hack at Home Depot. We were able to buy bigger whiteboards for $13 each and now every single room in our office is going to have huge whiteboards, all for under $100 total. Boom – startups 🙂

We spent the rest of the weekend doing more office setup and working with some of our newest clients who came onboard late last week. I’m working on getting discount codes for all of my blog readers so you can try out some of the cool companies that are using our technology.

From online Tuxedo rental services to custom dress shirts and everything in-between it is awesome to see how many people want to use Fashion Metric. Our incredibly talented front end developer/designer has been putting the finishing touches on a new video for our Virtual Tailor API which we’ll be releasing soon and of course I’ll make sure all of you are some of the first to see it!

Tonight we’re getting ready for the week, honestly I’m so excited about what we are doing right now I just want the weekends to go by so we can get to the week! In case you missed it also make sure to check-out an article I wrote for BuiltInAustin.com about moving our startup from LA to Austin.

Also I’m happy to say that after about four months of freezing cold weather it looks like it’s finally getting warm in Austin again. So far the heat has been no surprise but that fact that it’s incredibly cold here for more than a quarter of the year honestly has blown my mind…it’s cold in Texas!

Okay, time to get ready for bed, can’t wait for Monday!
