YouTube and Domaining

by Morgan on January 26, 2009

We are in a niche market. Ask a random person on the street if they know what "Domaining" is and 999 out of 1000 times – they won't know. I live in Los Angeles and went to the local Borders the other day – there wasn't a single book published about Domaining. If you've ever walked around a Borders or Barnes and Nobles then you'll know – there are books published about everything! Not a single Domaining book.

I'm not saying that there aren't any Domaining books in print, just exemplifying how much of a new and niche market we are all participating in. A few months back a blog reader asked me if I would consider offering a video version of my course. At the time we were in the middle of a number of key projects so I had to table the idea.

Well, I decided to take my reader's advice – but instead of selling a video of my book, I decided to create a series of free videos to teach the basics of Domaining. Video has become the ultimate "anywhere" medium. With the advent of the video iPod it suddenly became easy to watch videos on a device small enough to fit in your pocket. Couple this with the iPhone and YouTube integration and you have a great new market for education.

So today, January 26th, 2009 I have gone from the two-dimensional digital domain to the three-dimensional YouTube generation. I am going to make seven total lessons with the end-goal being to provide a base-level of information for people interested in learning about Domaining.

Please feel free to watch the video – any positive ratings/comments are greatly appreciated! Let's keep education free and continue to provide free resources like these to the community.

As always – thanks for reading and Happy Flipping!
