3 Things To Think About Going Into This Weekend

As you probably know by now I’m a pretty reflective person. Blogging is a way of getting all the thoughts that are running through my head out into the open. I’ve had a lot of people ask me why I am so comfortable sharing intimate details of my life, how much money I make, deals I do, etc. I’m not sure why I’m so comfortable with it and I know many other bloggers aren’t. Since I was a kid I was always talking, always sharing, and I guess those things just don’t change.

This week I received some very sad news that an old childhood friend of mine had passed away. Even though I haven’t spoken to him since we were about four years-old the news was still incredibly sad and I took some time to look at what he had been up to over the years. It also made me think about life and how lucky all of us are.

So going into this weekend I have a lot on my mind and thought I’d share three things I think we should all think about, and since a vast majority of my readers are Domain Investors, I’ve done this with domains in mind.

  1. Do what you love – life can be long, or short, you just don’t know. While there is money in Payday Loan sites I highly doubt anyone is passionate about Payday loans. Do something you love, if painting is your thing, start a site about painting and sell painting supplies, eBooks about painting, etc. If development isn’t fun to you, buy some painting domains and find amazing innovative people who you can sell them to that will help them take their business to the next level. If domains aren’t your thing that’s fine, just do what you love.
  2. Work with people you like working with – the same logic applies, life can be long, or short, you just don’t know. Spend time with people you enjoy spending time with and work at places that you like working. I have far too many friends working in cubicles in offices full of people they don’t like doing things that they don’t like. If you don’t like what you’re doing or don’t like who you’re working with, make a change, the only person stopping you is you.
  3. Use money to buy time – I have some friends that use all their money to buy things. I like things just like the rest of us but I also love using money to buy time. This applies directly to Domain Investing because you don’t need to be making all your phone calls or doing all your emails, get someone else to do it and buy back your time.

Feel free to share your own reflections going into this weekend or comment on any of mine. Happy Friday!
