Countdown To TRAFFIC 2012: Your Weather Forecast For The Week

fort_lauderdale_beach

The wait is almost over, in two hours we’ll be heading to the airport and on our way to Fort Lauderdale for TRAFFIC! Daina and I land tonight at around 6:00PM and both of us couldn’t be more excited! Tomorrow we will spend the day hanging out at the cabanas and on Saturday we will head out on the high seas for a day of deep sea fishing, a first for both of us, any tips?

Last year it rained like crazy during TRAFFIC and I’ve been paying close attention to the weather this year. So I thought I’d play weatherman today and let everyone know what kind of weather to expect based on the latest forecast. Right now it looks like Saturday will definitely see rain but we could also see rain many other days of the conference.

Based on what I heard from everyone last year the rain didn’t rain on anyone’s parade so I’m sure rain or shine it will still be a blast. With that let’s take a look at the weather forecast for the week ahead.

    HI Morgan,

Thanks for the weather report – I can scratch that off my to-do list.

First time deep-sea fishing, eh? Word to the wise: Get some Dramamine and/or the seasickness wrist bands with the acupressure beads. My deep-sea fishing experience would have been much more pleasurable if I’d been more prepared.

I’m looking forward to meeting you and Daina!

Morgan – It’s been nothing but gorgeous blue skies this entire week (so far). IF it rains, it’ll rain for an hour in the later part of the afternoon. Bbe sure to pack your sunglasses and sunscreen! You’re gonna need them both! 🙂

    See you this weekend!

    Safe travels!

As an add-on to Wayne’s comment – In my experience, the worst thing you can do when you start to get seasick is to go in the cabin of the boat and try to lay down and let it pass. It helps to be in the fresh air with a damp head and the wind in your face.

Forecast looks pretty good for the week. 30% rain chances are common at this time of year in Florida – that is a coverage statistic – it just means that in a given locale odds are that 30% of the area will see rain fall. That means 70% won’t. These showers are also usually limited to a short time frame. There should be plenty of blue skies during the week. We will be over late tomorrow afternoon – look forward to seeing you there!

@Ron – excellent, glad I packed my shorts then and I don’t feel as silly for forgetting my jacket! See you soon and hello from 35,000 feet!
