Cruise.ME Targeting 2M Monthly Uniques + 50,000 New Registrations Monthly

Last year Cruise.me sold for $28,500, now the team gets ready to leave alpha testing and head-into a beta with a public launch around the corner in 2014. The bootstrapped startup is looking to change the way people book cruises by bringing the roughly 85% of people who book offline, online.

Yes, it sounds crazy but it’s true, only 15% of people book cruises online and there has been little disruption in the space, until now.

“Fewer than 15 percent of cruises are currently booked online, Chip said. At the same time, cruise lines are increasingly catering to a younger crowd — both singles and families — meaning there is a big opportunity to make inroads as an online service.” (Source – TechCrunch)

I’ve covered the incredible growth of the .ME TLD in the startup space and this is another great example of an awesome startup disrupting a massive industry and doing it on a .ME domain. Congrats to the whole team, as someone who does just about everything online this is something I definitely can see myself using.
