Do You Only Read Domaining Blogs?

In the Domaining space it can be easy to go nuts reading every blog out there. There are lots of great blogs and we are lucky to be in an industry with resources like that help us all stay on top of industry news. While I’m just as addicted to Domaining blogs as many of you are I also am addicted to a number of other blogs in completely different niches. It’s important to remember that as a Domainer you need to run a business and learning from other business-owners in other industries is essential. As entrepreneurs it’s also important follow other entrepreneurs and learn what they are doing, you may share some of the same trials and tribulations.

For me, I’m also interested in venture capital, have been for years, so I also follow one particular VC blog that has been a favorite of mine for years now. While I’m proud to say that over 50% of my blog-reading is dedicated to the Domaining space, a good chunk of my daily reads happens on other blogs completely unrelated to Domaining.

At the ripe age of 29 I’ve learned that I still have a lot to learn! Anyone who thinks they are an expert in everything is just lying to you – they can’t be and neither can you! However you can diversify your knowledge and make sure you’re getting a balanced dose of the things that are important to you. If you’ve spent the last ten years focused on Domaining, wouldn’t it be interesting to hear from someone that has spent the last ten years in Venture Capital funding new companies?

So I thought now would be a good time to share some of the blogs I read just about every single day that are not part of the Domaining space. In the Domaining world I read just about every blog but I can’t say I read them all – I’ve learned to put my focus on blogs that have provided me with the most guidance over the years. I love that Francois will allow you to remove feeds from – I urge all of you to filter-out what you don’t read so you can focus on the sources you value most. Life is short so if you find a blog that you read but don’t get something out of time and time again, block it and move on.

Below is a list of some of the other blogs I love reading:

There are definitely more blogs that I read but these are the main culprits you’ll find me reading each morning and night. I spent in total about an hour or two a day reading blogs, articles, etc. I feel it’s important to always be learning and while I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished, I know that the more I learn and the more people I can learn from, the more I can achieve!

So if you find yourself only reading Domaining blogs – branch-out, expand your horizons and open your mind to some of the other great blogs and communities out there. If you pick just one blog from my list I’d go with AVC – this is written by Fred Wilson a Venture Capitalist in New York City and it’s one of the best blogs on the net, period. I’m not being paid to say this, that’s just how good his blog is!

That’s all I’ve got folks, now back to your regularly scheduled Tuesday!

Morgan, there is only one thing we share in common, it’s WINE!
But I like better winespectator witch is more a mag than a blog.
Anyway if you were interested I’ve got some premium wine names for sale in my portfolio.
