Domainvestors.tv SEO Power Tips – Lesson #1

I’m starting to like the idea of having series posts. I have my weekly video as well as my “domain investing process explained” series running in parallel right now. I am doing this to help provide valuable information as well as get a feel for what type of series content might be popular on a television series.

So with that being said I’d like to introduce you to the latest series on Domainvestors.tv – SEO Power Tips! The goal here is to give quick tips that can help you improve your SEO right-away. To start-off with a bang I thought I’d share one of my most successful SEO techniques and one that I haven’t shared with anyone yet! This will be short and sweet (most likely would be called the SEO minute on the TV show) but you can apply the technique the second you finish reading this post and see the results almost immediately!

What is my first SEO Power Tip? Using blog comments to generate traffic. What this means is posting a comment on a blog while including a link to one of your sites. It is very important to note that you can’t just submit comment spam – instead you’ll have to find a blog that is talking about a subject related to your site.

Here’s an example. Suppose you have a site about kayaking and you want to improve your SEO and get more traffic to your site. You can start looking around for Kayaking blogs and then, and here is the important part, find a recent post that relates to something you discuss on your site. Now write an actually useful comment (once again NOT COMMENT SPAM) and provide a link to your site within the comment. Now you are providing useful information and a link to your site that makes sense given the context.

Now for my the final piece of advice. Think outside of the box. Don’t just look within your niche – look outside of your niche to find popular blogs that are talking about your subject matter. I have used this approach with some of the top ten blogs online and have been able to successfully generate massive traffic from a single comment. Below is screenshot of the traffic boost created using this SEO technique:

As you can see – my traffic went from an average of 30 visitors to 169 all from a single comment on a blog post. With this traffic also comes improved SEO since you will now have a link to your site from a highly ranked site and best of all – a site that you don’t have a link back to (Google values these links the most). So give it a shot but remember, no comment spam – only by providing relevant and useful information with this technique pay-off!
