Exclusive Photos From The Mega Launch In New Zealand

Yesterday I wrote about what I think will be one of the top tech stories of 2013, the launch of Mega by Kim Dotcom. The site has already seen over 250,000 users register and the number is growing by the second. In fact, the site saw so much interest that it is has been fighting to stay up and is down as of this writing.

It is Sunday in New Zealand and the official Mega launch party is about to kick-off. I was able to get my hands on some exclusive photos that you won’t find anywhere but MorganLinton.com. So if you can’t be in New Zealand yourself, at least you can get one step closer. One thing is certain, this is going to be a Mega launch party!

Cool, I also was one of these people who signed yesterday but to be a bit dissapointed as I was expecting a service like in the past offering movie donload (or at worst music download) but it was only a sort of dropbox with poor interest for me.

Yesterday Kim shared a screenshot via Twitter, teasing what appears to be a service called ‘MegaMovie’, so it looks like Mega is not his only project.

    Nice traffic catcher post, Morgan.

While I have to give Kim some credit for what he has achieved for himself, for the hosting/UCG industry (and he even created an additional method of monetization for the adult movie industry), I have a hard time forgetting his history with the German hacker scene. Weird as I usually try not to hold a grudge… I also cannot shake how cocky he was when I meet him some 20 years ago.

One thing he always was good at was to get the media to publish his stories, which is quite a skill.
