Expired Domains I’m Looking At

I’ve been talking a lot about expired domains lately on the blog and this has stirred-up a ton of emails from people all with the same question, “What expired domains are you looking at?” While it’s a bit of a risk as a blogger sharing the names you’re bidding on, since I’m not the only person bidding I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. Of course I wouldn’t recommend anyone get in a battle with me to win the name and then try to sell it back to me as you’ll find I won’t be interested.

What I would like to do is provide a window into my thinking right now so you can better-understand what domains are interesting to me. This is something that has changed over the years. Back in 2007 and 2008 I was focused on buying .us, and .me domains, now just about every name that I look for is a .COM and in some cases a .NET or .ORG if they are truly killer names. I also feel that in some cases a .ORG is more powerful than a .COM. This is in the case of nature or outdoor events where the audience isn’t looking to be sold to but is instead looking for information so .ORG has a nice trust-factor to it.

Right now I’m looking for expired domains on Snapnames, Go Daddy, and NameJet. The list below is of some of the names I’m hoping to get but if I don’t, it’s not the end of the world. I’d rather wait for a good name then buy a bunch of junky names. Right now I’m focused on buying domains in the $xxx range that can sell in the $x,xxx range. Sure it would be great to re-sell these in the $xx,xxx range but I’m more of a realist. I also look at domains specifically for development and monetization and these I don’t sell until I have a site on them, good rankings, and over $100/month in revenue.

So here it is, a partial list of expired domains that I’m looking at right now:

appreciated.com
appetizers.net
incentive.org (development candidate, not for flipping)
symbol.org
orangejuice.com (doubt I’ll get this one as it’s sure to go out of my range)
fwa.com
rapidbrowse.com
couponnetworks.com
couponcloud.com (development candidate, not for flipping)
deniedcredit.com
casinopromo.com (development candidate, not for flipping)
guarded.com

Feel free to share with me and everyone else some of the expired domains you are looking at as well! Comment and let your voice be heard!
