Flippa Friday – two sites that caught my eye on Flippa this week

Hello, happy Friday, and welcome to another Flippa Friday here on MorganLinton.com 👋 Just like last week, I’ve scoured Flippa’s listing and found two online businesses that I think could be the real deal. As with any investment, do your due diligence, and/or use Flippa’s own due diligence service.

This week I ended up finding two sites that honestly sound like a lot of fun to me – one is about swimming pools, the other is a SaaS business that generates WordPress themes. Let’s start with swimming pools because it has been hot for a lot of us over the past week ☀️ 🥵

Flippa Site

Review sites have been catching my eye a lot more lately. What I think is unique about independent review sites is that they can rank well and attract more attention in some cases than the usual Yelp results. In this case, it’s clear this site has definitely generated some attention, nothing to write home about but still ~$3,000/mo in revenue.

Of course, I always want to look-into the seller, in this case he’s done 83 transactions and $491,293 in revenue with an 100% positive feedback rating. That being said, this sale would represent 1/6th of the total sales done so I’m thinking this might be somewhat of a prized site. At a multiple of 2.4x this seems fair to me, but like most deals in this range on Flippa, I’d probably want to use their due diligence service just to be sure.

Flippa WordPress Generator

It’s probably not a surprise that this site caught my eye. I’ve been writing a WordPress blog for fourteen years 🙋‍♂️ I really dig this one – it’s software that generates WordPress themes and according to the listing it has already generated over $1M in revenue.

The first thing I’d want to do diligence-wise on my side would be to look at the data related to the past revenue to make sure that initial claim is true. That being said, the site has been around for eight years so it doesn’t sound ery far out of the realm of possibility.

Also, while the seller has completed 15 transactions, his total transaction value is $5,153 which means his average transaction comes out to $342. Just like the above site, I’m guessing this is his pride and joy and he put it up for sale, but I’d probably want to look into it more. That being said, if it passes diligence, I think this is a very cool business and while I might be getting ready to move to Ghost, WordPress isn’t going anywhere, it’s the standard.

Okay, now is where you come in – which is your favorite out of these two? I want to hear from you, comment and let your voice be heard!
