I’ve talked about FreshDrop before on my blog, it is one of the best tools a domain investor can have in their arsenal and with a price drop from $98.95 down to $19.95 there really is no reason not to become a pro member. Now they’ve added a new backordering service called Pheenix that makes it easy to backorder a .COM or .NET name you have your eye on. You can backorder any name for $18.95 and this comes with free WHOIS privacy which saves you $6-$10/year depending on which registrar you use.
Pheenix uses multiple registrars for its drop catching service, however all domain names can be managed from one central location on the pheenix.com site. Currently, the ‘Pheenix Delete’ datafeed can be found on FreshDrop.com, with plans on a more robust integration between the two services in the future. I just signed-up for Pheenix today and will be using it and sharing my feedback as I start catching names through it. As a FreshDrop customer I see this as a very nice value add and yet another reason why FreshDrop is one of my favorite domain tools out there.
