Good Things Come To Those Who Comment

As you all know I absolutely love writing this blog – it has become a passion of mine and part of my daily routine. Over the last 6 months I’ve seen the volume of comments steadily increasing and am consistently impressed with the quality of comments I receive. I read every single comment submitted to my blog and let about 99% of the comments through. The only reason I wouldn’t approve a comment is if it is full of profanity – otherwise you can insult me or my blog all you want and I will still publish it!

I get emails all the time from people saying that they’ve learned a lot from my blog and I thought now would be a great time to say – I’ve learned a lot from all of you too!

So I’ve decided it’s time to start rewarding those of you who comment on my blog. First – I’ve added a “Top Commentators” section to the bottom of my blog. This will always contain the top ten commentators along with links – these are not “No Follow” links so you’ll get a bit of link love for being in the top ten.

On top of this I will also be featuring my #1 Commentator on the sidebar starting in November. If you get to the top position I will have a spot for you on the sidebar with a picture of you (or logo for your company) and 1-2 sentences that you can write about yourself or your company. I thought this would be a great way to reward my top commentator and give them some major exposure on my blog!

Thanks for all the great comments over the years and I hope this new program will reward all of you who have taken the time to comment on my blog. As the title says – good things come to those who comment!

I like the idea and I think this will complement your content. I always wonder how each search engine actually treats “No Follow”.

Thanks Mojito! Google uses “No Follow” to essentially ignore the link juice the site would otherwise give to the linked site. Since I’m not using “No Follow” links here this means that my top ten will get a little link juice from me 🙂

I recently added a list like this to my blog, I think it really encourages people to comment and is a great way of saying thanks and rewarding those who comment most.
