He totally screwed his sale potential with that insane video. Why do that ? He was not selling a funny domain where you could say it was cohesive.

    Quite Goofy!
We all have these avant garde tech domains with no exact, the only problem is you will have to wait about 5 – 10 years before some fruition. I think, although I could be wrong of course, but it takes a lot of time for such products to hit the real market if you want to affiliate from such a site.

I see this as the gambling side of domaining. But your only doing it with $10.99 😉

I’ve a few which are tucked away in a cupboard collecting dust.

It’s obvious he’s very bored and could give less than a dam if this sells.

@HowieCrosby: Thats correct! I’ve got lots of names 5-10 years old which are just now in the past year or two selling in the 2000-3000 USD range. So for about $90 in reg+renewal costs, it was worth the wait!

These are from incoming solicits. I sometimes imagine if I had the b-lls to make outgoing calls and sell the rest!

Bad marketing is sometimes good marketing. From this day forward I will never forget domains90210.com and the Andy Warhol poster adds the perfect touch to this crazy video.

    Hello All,

It’s me, Claude, the mad domainer. Thank you Morgan for featuring my bizarre video and thank you all for your comments.

In marketing you sometimes do need to take chances. I really took a chance with this video and I’m not sorry that I did. Traffic is through the roof today and I have gotten many nice comments by email.

I should mention that I was fortunate enough to have attended The Groundlings improv group, many years ago. Some greatest comedians hail from The Groundlings (I am certainly not one of them). The list includes; Will Ferrell, Phil Hartman, Laraine Newman, Will Forte, Cheryl Hines and many others.

My time at the Groundlings did teach me not to take myself too seriously. To quote Oscar Levant, “There’s a fine line between genius and insanity, I have totally erased that line.” Oscar certainly didn’t take himself too seriously and it served him well.

I have spent most of my life involved in marketing. I launched my first successful online businesses in 1996 and I am very confident in my capabilities. My intention was just to bring a little lighthearted fun to an otherwise ordinary subject. By the way, no intoxicants were used in the filming of this video 🙂

Incidentally, If just one person, who didn’t know about Photoelectric Smoke Alarms, buys one, after watching my video, my video will have served a greater purpose. This is a hugely important safety product which no home should be without.

    Best wishes to all,

    Claude

How do you know he’s doing a Gilbert imitation and not handicapped? Man could have had a stroke or born with Cerebral Palsy.
