Highlights from TRAFFIC Vancouver – Day 1

Day one of TRAFFIC Vancouver was a blast! The combination of interesting and engaging panels coupled with some of the best networking opportunities out there made the first day of TRAFFIC one to remember!

Well…if you’re reading this there’s a good chance you didn’t make it to the show so I though I’d share the highlights with you so you can at least feel a bit like you were here. Of course there is nothing like being here in person and if you haven’t been to a TRAFFIC show yet I strongly urge you to attend one this year!

So what happened yesterday?

Breakfast
Breakfast is every morning from 10AM-11AM – all I can say is that this is the best timing I’ve ever experienced for breakfast at a conference. It allows me to stay-out late but still get a good night of sleep. Breakfast at TRAFFIC is an incredible networking opportunity and if you’ve ever wanted to meet someone in the industry there’s a good chance you can actually have breakfast with them at TRAFFIC. Back in Vegas my first breakfast was with Ron Jackson, Howard Neu, and Rick Schwartz…yes – I had to pinch myself just to make sure it wasn’t a dream!

ccTLD Panel
The first panel was all about ccTLDs – my favorite topic! If you missed my summary of the panel you can read it here – TRAFFIC Vancouver 2010 – Day 1 – ccTLDs Are Taking Over The World!

Test Track
I’m a big fan of Shark Tank and Test Track is just like Shark Tank – except for the Domaining world. This year four inspired entrepreneurs presented their ideas to a panel of investors.

For me one of the most interesting parts of test track is hearing the kinds of questions the investors ask the entrepreneurs. If you’ve ever wanted to know what goes through the mind of an investor when they are deciding whether or not to investing in a company – Test Track is the place to be!

Cocktail Party
The day ended with a cocktail party at the revolving restaurant at the top of the hotel. As you all know I never write about parties or nightlife so if you want to know what it’s like to party with some of the top Domainers in the world…you’ll have to be here in person!

Okay – day two is starting right now – time to head downstairs for breakfast! Today and tomorrow I’ll be filming interviews for Domainvestors Television. If there’s anyone you want to see me interview please feel free to add your suggestions as a comment to this post.

Stay tuned for more updates from TRAFFIC Vancouver 2010!
