If you want to learn about Chinese domain names, you need to be at NamesCon

It should be no secret that the Chinese domain name market is growing, and fast. While investors from China have already been putting tons of money into buying premium .COMs there’s two new domain extensions that are likely to become the top investment-grade domain extensions in China, I’m talking about .在线 and .中文网 (.ChineseOnline and .ChineseWebsite).

The problem that most domain investors have with buying Chinese domain names is that Chinese is an incredibly hard language to learn. This is what has kept me out of the Chinese domain market but I see that changing this year, and I see this change starting at NamesCon.

TLD Registry

TLD Registry, the folks who run .在线 and .中文网 will be offering a number of Chinese Domaining Masterclasses. Here’s a bit more about the main session but I can tell you there’s a very good chance I’ll be going to more than one!

This main session offers a solid foundation for learning about the culture of the internet in China, how different aspects of the Chinese language will affect your IDN domaining decisions, and will ultimately prepare you for the other sessions, which are more in-depth regarding the different aspects of Chinese IDN domaining.

The main session class really is a must-attend, here’s a look at when they will be offered during the show:

Sunday, January 11

10:15 – 11:15 Chinese Domaining Masterclass 2015 Main Session

13:10 – 14:10 Chinese Domaining Masterclass 2015 Main Session (repeat)

To make life easy TLD Registry has their own room on the second floor of the Tropicana (Ashton room #2, on the second floor of the Tropicana Hotel) so it’s incredibly easy to get to whichever session(s) you want to attend. Hope to see you there!
