If you want to make a difference, start by watching this video

This week Emmanuel Acho shared a video on Twitter that covers a question many people have – what can I do to help? While there are a lot of things you can do to help, and maybe you’ve already been doing everything you can think of, still, watch this video.

Too many people have decided to stay silent, ignore what’s going on, and just go about their week like it’s business as usual. It’s not business as usual, something serious is happening right now and this is the time to stand up for what you believe in and be a part of the solution.

I’ve spent this week writing about how we can all work together to help put an end to systemic racism and the massive misuse of power by police in this country. As you’ve also noticed, I turned off comments on my posts this week because I really want to stay focused on the content. A number of readers have emailed me sharing their support and this weekend I have phone calls and Zoom’s with a handful of people who are working together with me to help continue to make an impact as we move forward as a country.

So if you haven’t watched the video I linked to above, take ten minutes this weekend to do it, and then start doing everything you can to help. Now is the time for us to come together as humans and move forward as a country. If you’re doing something to help and think I could amplify the impact and get more people involved, please email me, I’d love to do it.

Thank you to all my readers from around the world who have written emails to me showing their support and sharing what they are doing to help.

Last but not least, like I said in my article yesterday, if you have been silent this time, your silence speaks volumes, but it’s not too late to break your silence. If you have a platform that reaches a large group of people, there is no better place to spread the word and share what you’re doing to help and inspiring more people to do the same. It’s never too late to make a difference. We’re all in this together, we are all brothers and sisters, we are all equal, now it’s time to make sure we’re all treated that way now and forever.
