Is Google+ A Big Deal?

As many of you know I’m a bit of a social media fanatic. I’m on Twitter and Facebook constantly and have fun charting my daily adventures on FourSquare. However for some reason Google+ has never resonated with me. I’m not sure why exactly but I think the main reason is that it’s a lot of work just to keep Facebook and Twitter rocking, adding a third network to the mix really did feel like the straw that could break the camels back. Still, I’m starting to feel a bit behind the times not actively using Google+ so I thought I’d reach out to all of you and ask what your thoughts are on the issue.

The main questions that I have for those of you who are more active with Google+ are:

  • Do you find that you get more or less interactivity with followers through Google+ than through Facebook and Twitter?
  • Are you connecting with a different or larger audience through Google+?
  • Do you have a killer app that allows you to post on all three networks? I use HootSuite but have never looked-into what they offer on the Google+ side.
  • Last but not least, am I crazy for waiting this long to take the plunge and go Google+?

Thanks in advance for sharing your opinions, it’s about time I got this topic out in the open. As always comment and let your voice be heard!

Google + is a sleeping giant. Soon all of the privacy issues with Facebook will have the masses changing to Google+. Its just a matter of time.

Did my question G+ question in your previous blog post trigger this one? 🙂

I think G+ is great. Google has put a lot of hours into a great new design (I love the cellphone app), with a lot of new features and functionality. The entire website looks fresher, its more user friendly and the GUI has been massively improved.

Give it a try, you’ll love it.

Oh and I forgot to mention the fact that G+ sometime in the near future will roll out “Usernames” – pretty much the same content FB has used for years.

I don’t know about others, but I don’t have the time to check three different social media outlets multiple times a day.

    Twitter is the most relevent.

    FaceBook is fun.

    Google+ comes after folding socks!

Google + is currently still asleep. I use it and I like it but most I talk to could care less about Google +. That could change but its still quiet for the most part, especially in Domaining.

Thanks for your feedback @RH, that’s what I’ve seen so far. Feels like Google just came to the whole social media game a bit too late…but these things do change over time, the question is how long?
