Juked.gg raises a fresh $1M as it quickly becomes the content hub for eSports

When most people think of sports, they think of ESPN, the hub for all sports…well kinda. While I appreciate that ESPN did add eSports to their site and app, the coverage is tiny compared to other sports, so small that it really isn’t on anyone’s radar in the eSports world.

What is on everyone’s radar is Juked.gg which over the last few months has become the main site I visit to watch eSports. Juked.gg provides what I had thought ESPN would, but didn’t – an organized lineup of all the different eSports competitions taking place and live coverage of the matches.

Like the title of my post says, Juked.gg has a fresh $1M in funding which ended up coming in through the Republic crowdfunding platform. With a total of 1,070,000 raised from 2,524 investors that the average investor only had to pony up around $423 to get a piece of the deal.

Like ESPN, when you’re getting setup on Juked.gg they asked you what games you follow, and for those wondering, the games I like to watch are:

  • Fortnite (my favorite to play + watch)
  • DOTA2
  • League of Legends
  • Hearthstone

I was actually watching eSports last night when I heard that there was a football game that apparently leads to the Super Bowl? In all honesty I didn’t even know football was going on, which goes to show how little I follow traditional sports! 😜

Also, as a domain investors I can’t help but notice that what is quickly becoming the go-to hub for eSports is branding on a .GG domain, and raised their funding on a platform that brands on a .CO domain name.

My guess is Juked.gg is going to see some serious growth going forward, heck Discord just raised at a $7B valuation and Twitch viewership is at an all-time high. Now to see if I can somehow convince the founders of Juked.gg to let me into their next fundraising round so I can move from user to investor 🕺

Congrats to Ben, Chris, Delan and team – here’s to the year ahead 🚀
