Mark Levine continues to rock on outside of .COM, this time with Roost.ai for $5,000

Mark sells Roost.ai

If you don’t know who Mark Levine is, you should because he’s been on a roll for the last few years and doesn’t seem to be slowing down. After selling his company in the publishing space Mark decided to become a full time domain investor, and he quickly jumped into the .IO market making it a lucrative part of his income stream.

In 2018 Mark cleared over $100,000 in sales and detailed how he did it in this podcast on Domain Name Wire. Like many other domain investors that didn’t get to share in the early days of .COM boomtown and parking revenue machines, Mark has been able to invest in other extensions that have gone on to help him build a strong portfolio outside of .COM.

Of course Mark still owns plenty of great .COM domain names, but like Nikul, who made most of his revenue in 2019 off of .CO, he’s able to book a great ROI by looking outside the domain industry’s tried and true extension.

As you know from the title of this post and the tweet at the top, today Mark announced the sale of Roost.ai for $5,000. It’s no secret that .AI has been kicking ass and taking names in the startup world and that doesn’t seem to be slowing down as large enterprises are rushing to leverage AI in an effort to embrace innovation faster.

I’m not sure how many .AI domains Mark owns but I’m guessing this sale pays for his investment in all of them and leaves a nice chunk of change behind to re-invest. Mark, if you’re reading, you can tell me if I’m right or wrong here!

Huge congrats to Mark, .AI is a challenging TLD to invest in given its high renewal fees, it really takes finding the right names – Roost.ai is a nice one and I’m looking forward to seeing who ends up making it their new home.
