When it comes to collecting and validating real data about startups it’s safe to say that Mattermark takes the cake. I’m probably late to the party on this one but today I learned that they have a pretty slick Chrome extension that makes it insanely easy to do a deep dive into any startup you happen to be visiting directly from your browser.
It looks like this:
I know that as a new angel investor myself I tend to visit a startups homepage and then Google search them, go to Mattermark, Crunchbase, etc. From what I can see this Chrome extension would give me just about everything I’d be searching around for directly in the browser.
At the same time as the co-founder of a SaaS startup this is also super valuable data for me to have when researching companies we’re looking at doing business with.
From the Mattermark Chrome extension you can see things like:
- location
- year founded
- employee growth and growth score
- funding to date
- founders
