Morgan’s Flippa Five: ARGlasses.com, CMHS.com, Black.car and more

brandable-domains

Hello, happy Sunday and welcome to Morgan’s Flippa Five! I have seen a good influx in new readers lately so I thought I’d do a quick recap of what this weekly series is all about. Every week I go through Flippa’s domain listings by hand and pick five domains that I think could be a good fit for a startup. I try to focus on names that are priced reasonably and have good long-term branding value to a startup.

While I could list dozens of names (because Flippa has a ton of great domains) I choose to pick five so that we can keep it nice and focused. Also, I always welcome comments so if you love a domain I mention, or think I recommended a name that genuinely sucks, I want to know! Okay, enough from me, onto this week’s Flippa Five!

ARGlasses.com – two of the hottest new technologies right now are AR and VR and AR in particular is the one that many are betting is going to really take-off with consumers. Right now what you wear is often called a “headset” but these are bulky and are probably going to look pretty old school later down the line. Glasses will likely be what really makes AR viable for the masses and if you’re either building AR glasses, blogging about them, or selling them, this name is hard to beat.

CMHS.com – 20 year-old, 4L .COM, short and easy to remember. Full disclosure, this is one of my domains, but I think it’s a solid fit for any startup or organization that has a longer name that already goes by the acronym CMHS so I thought I’d include it in here.

Black.car – great fit for a startup in the ride sharing space that specifically focuses on black cars. While you’d probably want BlackCar.com one day, the advantage you’ll get with a new gTLD is a lower price point out of the gate.

Accordion.com – 21 year-old one-word .COM that could really be used to brand around any niche. Also there’s no reserve on this auction so it’s going to sell to the highest bidder.

BookHut.com – 20 year-old solid brandable two-word .COM, this is a great brand for someone in the eBook or publishing space.
