New Domain Appraisal Scammer – mikesbikes444@yahoo.com

Domain Appraisal scams have been running rampant for the last few years and they don’t seem to be slowing down. I have made it my person mission on this blog to inform my readers whenever I find another appraisal scammer. To date I have emails from over 100 people who have told me I saved them from falling prey to this scam, so you can bet I’ll keep on outing these scumbags. The latest scammer (or it really could be the same guy all these years!) is using the email address mikesbikes444@yahoo.com. The email that he sends will usually say something along the lines of:

Hello,
I am interested in purchasing this domain name (not the website content, only the domain).
If you are open to selling please let me know ASAP and I will submit my best offer.
Thanks for your time,
Mike Howard (mikesbikes444@yahoo.com)

The way these scams work is that “Mike” will give you some nice high offer for one of your domains. You’ll get excited, go out and celebrate and tell all your friends that you just made a huge sale. The only thing they want you to do is run a human appraisal at a site that they claim does manual appraisals. Here’s the rub, that site that you will pay $50-$100 for an appraisal with, is also run by the scammer. They collect your money and then disappear back into the ether. You are left having wasted $50-$100 on a bogus scam and with the terrible feeling of thinking you’ve made a big sale when you’ve instead just been duped.

So if you’ve received an email from this email address or you received an email from someone else with this same text in the body run away. This isn’t a real offer, this is a scam.
