Scam Update: DomainNames-Plus.com

I was just looking through the Google search results for my latest flip, FitnessGames(.)us when I found something fishy. A website, DomainNames-Plus.com was selling the domain and asking for an offer above $200. When I click on the link it gives an error message so not sure how anyone would bid, but they still decided to display the name as for sale through their site.

I wanted to provide this update right-away as I noticed a long list of domains on their "For Sale" list. Active domainers should check to see if any of their domains are listed on this site to prevent similar fraud.

If you notice that one of your domains is on this site you can contact abuse@secureserver.net.

On a sidenote, since it seems their website sale section isn’t even functioning correctly it shouldn’t be a threat…oh and of course they can’t actually sell the name since I am the owner! Still interesting to see my domain on a sale page from a site I’ve never heard of. Odd that the email address is at securesever.net and not DomainNames-Plus.com. If you go to secureserver.net it’s a parking page…something fishy is going on here.

Hopefully this will alert other domainers to this scam and keep potential customers away from this service.

Hmm, well secureserver.net is a GoDaddy-owned domain, and there are a number of images on domainnames-plus.com that are right from GoDaddy. So, is this a GoDaddy affiliate, or just a scam?

    Hi,
    I don’t believe it’s a scam.
DomainNames-Plus.com is a Godaddy Reseller and the domains listed there were probably offered thru GoDaddy at one time.
All of the domains that I clicked on resolve to a 500 Internal Error Server page so it seems the page has not been updated in some time.
If you try to register a domain then you leave the page and are taken to GoDaddy’s reseller registration process.
    Patrick
