Sedo’s .ME Auction Ends in Three Days, Big Brand Building Opportunities

I was debating whether or not to write this post because I really wanted to keep this all to myself. That being said there is no way that I can buy all these names so I guess it’s not that bad to let the cat out of the bag. This is not a sponsored post even though .ME is a sponsor of my blog. I am writing this out of my own interest in what I think is a great opportunity.

For those who don’t know, Sedo and .ME teamed-up for a Premium .ME auction running from November 11th through the 18th. There are a lot of really excellent premium one-word .ME domains that would be the perfect home for a brand. The thing I like most about these names is that they are REALLY easy to remember. For example, suppose I run an online store – wouldn’t Shopping.me be a great brand to build it on? Who could forget that? Right now it’s $149 on Sedo. Domains like Dial.me and Restaurant.me are only $100.

So what I see here is a great opportunity and one that I will be taking-part in. I don’t want to tell you specifically which names I’m going after but I think I’ll probably end-up picking 2-3 names I have my eye on. While these prices are so low that there is definitely flip potential I see much more potential in building brands on these domains. Either way I don’t think anyone expected any of these names to go for $100 or $120 but in some cases buyers here will really get what I think is an incredible deal…of course it’s up to you to have a plan to make money with every name you buy – don’t just speculate!

You can view the current inventory and bid on names at http://sedo.com/us/sedo/sedocomdotme/

Good luck and remember, it’s all about building a brand, and having a brand that is easy to advertise and remember can go a LONG way.

There are still some great names up for grabs, but the names you listed (Dial.me, Restaurant.me) aren’t actually priced at $100 or $149 – their reserves have not been met. Most, if not all, of the names in the auction seem to have been assigned a $999 reserve, because only the names with bids of $999 and above have had their reserves met.

So while one could still end up with a really sweet premium .ME name for a decent price, you’re still going to be looking at spending at least $1000.

@Nadia – wow, I did make a critical mistake here! You are absolutely right, I thought these had already hit their reserve. Hmmm, that does make things more interesting 🙂
