So I made a tough decision today and took down my post from yesterday and the comment I was asked to remove, here’s why

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve had a blog reader ask me to take down a comment he wrote on a post from last year. I had resisted doing it since other people had responded to his comment and I felt bad about deleting their comments in the process.

The person who wanted their comment removed kept asking me so I decided yesterday to do a post asking my readers about what I should do. The post blew-up and quickly become my most-commented post of 2020. Most people thought I should leave the comments up.

What I realized this morning is that fighting this would start a war with this guy who just wanted me to remove a simple comment from my blog. I don’t want that. More than anything this blog is something I truly love writing and if it’s bringing harm to someone else then I’m veering too far from my purpose.

Also, for me, I’m a big believer that most people in this world are good and are trying to do the right thing. If this blog reader really feels like having his comment up was hurting him in any way, then who am I keep it up, it’s not like the comment was critical to that particular blog post.

So with this post I’d like to apologize, first to my blog reader kamran who had to fight with me so much to get his comment taken down, and second to all my readers who commented on my post yesterday which I took down as well.

I’ve been writing this blog daily for 13 years now, in October it will be my 14-year blogging anniversary. I want to go into my 14th year of blogging feeling good about what I’m doing, and so for me, this was the right move.

As always, thanks to all of my readers around the world for reading and commenting, it’s because of all of you that I continue to write every single day, and why I plan to keep writing well into my 100’s.

Onward and upwards!
