Southern California Domainers Go Big This Saturday!

Feb 2012 MeetUp

I couldn’t be more excited to announce that our little MeetUp group that started in August of 2008 with just 10 people is gearing up for our biggest and best MeetUp we’ve ever held! Jason and I were looking for the perfect venue for our last MeetUp of 2012 and are incredibly fortunate to have found what we think will be the best venue yet, the home of Tan Tran, CEO of FreshDrop.

Tan has been a member of our group since day one and actually attended and sponsored our very first MeetUp back in 2008. Now Tan has gone above and beyond by offering us his home as the venue for our next MeetUp.

If you haven’t used FreshDrop before, it is one of the best tools out there for finding expired domains. As a data geek I’ve always been a big fan of FreshDrop since it allows you to narrow your search by the specific criteria that is important to you. Also FreshDrop has been around for a very long time and they have continued to improve and refine the system over the years.

This MeetUp will be a nice blend of education and Networking, we have four speakers lined-up. I will be talking about selling domains to end-users and sharing some case studies from real deals I’ve done that I’ve never discussed publicly before! Jason will be actually showing people how to build a site that you can use to monetize your domains live in front of the group. We have an SEO expert that will be sharing some great SEO tips and tricks and Tan will be keynoting the event showing all the cool things you can do with FreshDrop and discussing expired domains.

Along with great speakers Tan has gone the distance to make this the most exciting networking event we’ve ever held. Domainers can bring their swimsuits and take a dip in the pool and we’ll have an open bar to get the conversation flowing. We also have a snack sponsor for the event (a first for us) – Outburst Energy, which is caffeinated chocolates, yum!

Whether you’ve been to all of our MeetUps or if this will be your first I can tell you that this is one MeetUp you won’t want to miss. We have opened it up so that a total of 80 people can attend so if you want to attend the hottest Domainer event of December, sing-up now before all the spots are gone!

Sounds amazing! What a great way to get a heapin’ helpin’ of domain energy!
    Let’s see… food, drink, caffeinated chocolates, a pool, a site-building-for-monetization presentation. YOWZA!
Any chance of a video of the presentation? And maybe some tidbits is a blog post? I won’t be able to attend the event.
Oh, and I’ll be looking into those chocolates, too 🙂

Looks so great! What is the event plan? Basically what topics do you discuss or is it more of networking? So wanna be there!! One day will you meet there! 🙂

PS. There’s a problem with viewing on Chrome: “You attempted to reach, but the server presented an expired certificate. No information is available to indicate whether that certificate has been compromised since its expiration. This means Google Chrome cannot guarantee that you are communicating with and not an attacker. Your computer’s clock is currently set to Friday, December 7, 2012 9:09:39 AM. Does that look right? If not, you should correct the error and refresh this page.
You should not proceed, especially if you have never seen this warning before for this site.”

@Arseny – it’s a great mix of education and networking. We will start with about an hour of talks by four different speakers and then go-into networking.

You can read more about the talks and specific topics in the blog post above.

Let me know if you have any other questions, we are really excited about the event!

We just launched and there are kinks in it that developers are working on right now.

In the meantime, you can use to do your searching.

Due to the Holiday schedule, we plan to have the kinks worked out of in early Jan if not sooner.

    Hope this helps.
