Startup Domains Making News – Preamp.FM Helps You Rock It, Nearby

Preamp.fm Site

I love music, especially live music. For those who have been reading my blog for years you know that I spent a good chunk of time traveling the world, and through those adventures I’ve seen a lot of live music. From classical music in one of the most famous venues in the world in Buenos Aires to rock and roll in a locals-only spot in Monterrey Mexico I’ve always tried to find music wherever I go.

When it comes to finding live music where you live the “Around Me” app isn’t going to cut it, an all-out Google search extravaganza usually begins, until now. Enter Preamp.fm, a very slick new solution for discovering live music in your city (or whatever city you might be visiting).

Think of Preamp.fm as a video-pandora, but for live concert discovery. Pick a city and Preamp starts playing music videos of bands that are playing, you can watch the videos until your heart’s content, or click “Get Tickets” to buy tickets for a band you’re watching. Pretty slick solution and an idea that I think fellow music-lovers are also going to really dig.

Now as the for the domain, I think .FM is an awesome fit here. When people hear .FM they usually think of music which is why companies like Last.fm have rocked with this lesser-known TLD. Compare this to what’s been done to Preamp.com and it’s clear that Preamp.fm has something special and the .COM has, well, something that looks like it was built in the 90’s. I’m sure if Preamp.fm takes-off they’ll make a run at the .COM but for now I think .FM is a great home for them.

So are you ready to rock? If so then you might just want to check-out Preamp.fm, oh and don’t forget your earplugs if you’re getting old like me!
