Startup Domains Making News – RunDSP.com Raises $1.5M, New Domain Name In Their Future?

Today Ad Tech company Run announced a $1.5M round led by Verizon Ventures to take their ad buying and analytics platform to the next level. Run has built an ad management platform that makes it easy to advertise on mobile, tablet, desktop, and TV and keep close tabs on analytics data all in one place.

RunDSP.com

While the company goes by the brand name Run, they operate on the domain name RunDSP.com. When startups pick an incredibly short and brandable name like Run getting the .COM is often out of the question since another company is already operating a full-scale business on the name.

The question then becomes, what is the next best option? In my opinion Run.me is a pretty solid option and it’s available through the .ME Development Program. Run.net is another option and given that the domain doesn’t resolve there’s a good chance it would be available to buy…however I still think Run.me is a better choice.

What do you think? With Run.com out of the question, what is the next best option for Run?

I am not a big fan of non dot com domains, but fortunately big companies often have the budgets to put enough marketing behind them to make them work. In that case, Run.ME would be a decent option. Of course, now their time is limited before a squatter picks it up 🙂
