Good morning everyone (or afternoon depending on where you are) and welcome to Startup Monday! Today I’m excited to announce my very first give-away, a copy of Eric Ries’s new book – The Lean Startup. Eric is the leader of the Lean Startup Movement, a new approach that I’ve been learning about and implementing in my own business throughout this year. To be entered in the give-away simply write a comment below about how the Lean Startup Principles could be used in your own business. You don’t need to write an essay, a few sentences are fine. Who knows – maybe in the process you’ll discover some cool new ways to run your own business more efficiently!

I will be picking a winner tomorrow so you have 24-hours to submit your comment and enter to win a copy of Eric’s book. Read, set, go!

The Lean Startup principals can and should be applied towards any business. It puts the customer at the front lines of all business decisions; the way it should be. For our business, Storage Bucket, we are constantly deploying website and UI changes and soliciting feedback on those changes. We also recently ordered a few different types of bins to see which one customers preferred. Huge fan of the lean startup method, but I’ve only read about them online, would love to get the book!

Ive read your post on customer development. I didnt understand the importance of customer survey until i saw the results. turns out, my customers also like rap music and action films. this plays a big role in what celebs will receive free product and which will not. great post… thanks Lean Startup and ML!!!
