Startups, Start Your Engines – Announcing The First Premium .CO Auction For Startups

November is a very special month in the startup world as Global Entrepreneurship Week kicks-off November 12th and runs through the 18th. In honor of this week .CO and Sedo have joined forces to bring the first premium .CO auction specifically targeted towards startups. The auction features some of the best .CO names I’ve ever seen in auction all with very reasonable prices with reserves starting at only $500.

“The .CO domain was built from the ground up to support entrepreneurs,” said Lori Anne Wardi, the company’s Vice President, “so it’s really exciting for us to help Sedo to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week by making some of the hottest .CO domain names available to cool global startups who will use them to build the businesses and brands that help shape the future.”

For startups that are looking to brand with a short, memorable domain this offers one of the best opportunities I’ve seen all year. So if you have a great idea and want to couple that idea with a strong brand name, this is probably the best chance you’ve had all year to get a great .CO name at a price that is very startup-friendly. Below is the complete list of domains that will be featured in the auction:

Happy bidding and I’m looking forward to seeing which startups emerge with the brand name they’ve been looking for after this auction. Stellar inventory and stellar pricing combined means big opportunities for startup founders, and as a founder myself, that gets me pretty excited!

Note: .CO is not a sponsor of this blog nor am I being paid to write this post. I think this auction is a great opportunities for founders and that’s why I’m writing about it. No affiliate links, nothing in it for me just an awesome auction with some of the best .CO names on the planet.

The auction opens on November 12th and you can visit Sedo.co for more information or to start bidding once the auction starts. To see some of the amazing startups that are running on .CO you can check-out go.co.

I think this a good idea. The extension is not best choice if your trying to rebrand like overstock did. Not even sure why they wanted to rebrand they just should of got os.com if they wanted to go shorter. Owen has been seeing that trend for some time.

But for new start ups perhaps in other countries where .com is not so planted this may be a good idea for .co. But to me this is just going to be another indicator of how the new extensions play out. I think you have to very careful of what you buy in the .co area.
We own maybe only 5 .co names one being tablets.co being the best.

Some real Nice Names. I can see lots of these names selling very easy. I have a couple .CO Domains ( Vending.co , PPLE.co , CustomCloud.co ) That I’m very happy with. Looking at the names at this Auction, I think I’ll pick up a couple more..

    Thanx for the heads up..
