TechCrunch Picks Their Top 5 From DreamIt’s Demo Day

As many of you know we are currently a part of Techstars Austin. One of the other startup accelerators that I am always incredibly impressed with is DreamIt Ventures and today TechCrunch picked their top five startups from DreamIt’s Demo day.

While TechCrunch picked their top five I wanted to share all 12 as I know from first-hand experience that every single company in an accelerator was hand-picked from a much larger group. Sometimes the startup that isn’t mentioned in the “Top 5” article ends-up being the biggest success so I wanted to take the time to share every single startup with you here.

I recommend you take a look at each of these startups as you never know what new innovation might change your life or business forever. Remember, companies like AirBnB, Dropbox, SendGrid and many more all came out of awesome startup accelerators.

11 out of the 12 use .com, which shows .com is still the favorite choice.

Perhaps startups are a good hunting ground for potential buyers. They often start with meaningless made up words and sometimes opt for TLDs other than .COM. If you can offer a domain relevant to their business, who knows. Actually I saw an article on yesterday mentioning several startups, messaged a few with relevant domains and received one response with interest (pre-quote of course).
