TGIM – Thank Goodness It’s Monday!

TGIM everyone! I’ve been using this acronym for the last couple of months and I thought it was time to discuss where it comes from. First, let’s talk about what it means. TGIM means – Thank Goodness It’s Monday, and it is intended for all of us in this world that absolutely love what we do and live our passions. If you don’t love what you do then Monday may have a whole different meaning for you, but you can change that.

For the last six and a half years I’ve been loving every single Monday because I love what I do. If you’ve read my bio, heard me speak, or met me in person then you know I am very passionate about what I do. Right now a majority of my time goes-into working for an incredible music company that started with a simple goal – change the way people listen to music. Almost seven years later I’ve watched us achieve that goal and I can honestly say it’s one of the best feelings in the world.

Along with working for a great company I’ve had the good fortune of finding another passion almost four years ago – Domaining. While I can’t say I’m changing the way anyone does anything, I can say that I absolutely love Domaining and it’s become an incredibly successful investment strategy for me. I used to invest in the stock market, Forex, and had plans to do significant real estate investing. Once I found Domaining I realized this would be the investment strategy I would use for the rest of my life and I absolutely love it!

Those are the reasons why I wake-up Monday morning, oftentimes before my alarm clock, pop out of bed and say, “Thank Goodness It’s Monday!” However I didn’t come-up with this acronym, my uncle Irv York did. Irv was one of the most successful businesspeople in our family along with being one of the most kind, well-liked, and incredible people I’ve had the chance to know. Irv was a true entrepreneur starting more businesses than I can count on two hands and finding success in all of them, while impacting the lives of so many people.

It was Irv who coined the term TGIM, Thank Goodness It’s Monday. He discussed it in seminars and lived it every single Monday. Unfortunately even someone as strong and vibrant as Irv couldn’t beat cancer and he passed-away after a long fight earlier this year. His funeral was one of the most meaningful events of my life. Irv touched so many people’s hearts, changed people’s lives, and through that – changed the world. Every time I wake-up Monday morning full of energy, excited about the day ahead, I think of Irv and I think, Thank Goodness It’s Monday!
