The Most Useful Article on SEO I’ve Read In A Long Time

As you know I’m a bit of an SEO geek. Hey – I started building sites in the mid-90’s and I was an SEO geek back then so imagine what’s happened to me now! I’m a faithful reader of SEOMoz as should any other Domainer that wants to develop and monetize their names. Last night I was browsing through some old SEOMoz blog entries and came-across one titled, 30 SEO Problems & the Tools to Solve Them (Part 2 of 2).

First let me say this. They should be charging for this article – it really is SEO gold. The article goes through every major SEO problem you could encounter and the tools that have been made available to correct it. What your average web developer doesn’t know is that even having a small SEO problem on your site could dramatically impact your rankings…what I’m saying is – it’s a big deal!

Along with showing you how to improve your SEO and fix common problems the article shows you some tools that you just can’t live without. I picked-up about five completely new tools from reading this article – here were a few of my favorites:

PostRank
Very cool tool for bloggers. Allow you to understand the social reach of blog posts and ways to reach a wider audience. That’s damn cool – can’t believe I hadn’t heard of it until yesterday!

Virant Link Atrophy Diagnostics Tool
Do you ever wonder how long those links that you built-up to your site will last for? This tool will tell you how many high-quality links you have going to your site.

Feedback Army
This is just plain cool. You pay $15 and get usability testing for your site. Given that running a focus group can cost thousands of dollars this sounds good to me!

There’s a lot more in there so make sure to read this one, bookmark it, and reference it often. Like I said earlier it really is a nice piece of SEO Gold!

30 SEO Problems & the Tools to Solve Them (Part 2 of 2)

One little neat thing here I thought I should mention – you’ll see that DomainTools is mentioned as one of the top tools here!
