The Results Are In – 59% Of Facebook’s Ad Revenue Comes From Mobile

How quickly the world changes. It was only a couple of years ago that people touted the importance of having a mobile-friendly site. Now I think we’re going to see a switch to making desktop-friendly sites because you can’t deny it any more, the world has gone mobile.


Today Facebook announced their Q1 2014 earnings and it’s official, 59% of their ad revenue now comes from mobile. Couple this with the fact that Google gets 47% of its ad revenue from mobile and it’s also clear who’s playing catch-up. All that being said it won’t be long until more than 50% of Google’s ad revenue depends on mobile.

Now let’s fast-forward five years into the future when an entirely new generation of Internet user will be coming online for the first time. This will be a mobile-first user, a user who missed the progression all of us made from Desktop to mobile. Forget mobile-first software, the user will be mobile-first, and most of the user growth will be outside of the US.

The world has gone mobile, have you adapted to this change or are you still hanging-onto the way things used to be?

    It’s a lot of work mobilizing website but I think totally worth it! When are you going to mobilize this website ?

    That the user is outside of USA is very clear, as an example in Spain where I live young 12 to 18 all have a Smartphone that run throughout the holy day, that is, never to see messages and view ads , listening to music and watching movies, and playing as them although many whistles and comment in the forums when stop putting advertisements in these games that did not have and do not disturb.

    Another great niche the 18 to 25 year old men and women who all work as you do not do it for me to be sleeping with the smartphone like the young people before writing.

    Conclusion for me is crazy and big business for advertising really as he always does, but this must change and not be so heavy, should be short and be in the mind of the consumer that is like a domain name short and easy to remember, if not the vast majority of this Niche lose confidence games and other activities.

    I use my smarthphone only for calling and sending photographs whassaps and mine is a Sony and have 13 megapixel camera and nothing else, use a tablet 10.1 To scroll and send emails., Is the most logical.

    The problem is that smatphone To scroll with Google results letters are so small you need a magnifying glass to see the best, so young and 18 to 25 years to use this tablets.

    It is a great happiness to have to use the mobile to do more business, but I think different because Morgan does not have to do with mobile website as everything is startup as inverter domains, Ok, for Fashion Metric also to the rest should not block the way.
    Many EU and night you lost and total depression.
    For you @ Michel mobile is good but also bad if used for everything and life itself takes a toll this contraption that maybe can not afford, and this is life.
