These 3 Companies Set a New Standard for Domain Registrar Apps

Let’s be honest, every year that goes by you do more on your smartphone than the previous year. It all started with email, now my phone is my regular camera, it’s how I call a taxi Uber, heck I even do my grocery shopping on my phone (thanks Instacart!). So it should come as no surprise that domain registrars have been joining the app ecosystem but like most things, not all are created equal.

I tested every single domain registrar app I could find and I can tell you that three clearly stand above the rest. In no particular order here are my favorites:

Uniregistry

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Uniregistry is the Apple of domain registrars. An incredibly simple and clean user interface meets functionality that most of us have been waiting for. Some of the areas where this app really shines is when it comes to domain transfers and management, Uniregistry set the bar high here. You can read more about it in this article on Domain Name Wire.

NameCheap

NameCheap App

NameCheap has been one of the most popular registrars out there, and has seen a lot of growth from the startup community thanks to their great pricing and easy-to-use UI. Like Uniregistry they have a nice clean user interface that focused on key functions that you might need to access rather than throwing the kitchen sink at you. If you want to learn more about it check-out this post on the NameCheap blog.

Go Daddy

Go Daddy App

Go Daddy has been continuing to update and refine their app over time and I can tell you like wine, it gets better over time. What I like about Go Daddy’s app is the number of things you can do within it, from registering domains to checking your email or even bidding on domain auctions this is without a doubt the best way to experience Go Daddy on a phone.
