Think Apple Doesn’t “Get” Domains? Think Different.

Some companies just don’t get domains, they only own their brand name and lose a ton of traffic to cybersquatters sitting on their Trademarks. Unfortunately Domainers often get lumped in with the squatters which reflects negatively on the industry and frustrates the heck out of people like me. Of course, people can get away with it if the companies that own the Trademarks don’t do anything about it and many have thought this was true of Apple. Well, I’ll tell you that Apple gets domains, and in a major way.

Apple doesn’t just own a few choice .COMs, Apple cares about their Trademark in just about every TLD under the sun. Below are just some of the domains that Apple owns:

applecomputerimac.com
applevirtualmerchandising.com
appstore.pt
appule.com
calendar-server.org
imoviefest.com
ipad-hoes.net
iphonegamecenter.biz
iphonegamecenter.org
ipodgamecenter.info
itunes10.info
ituneslive.at
ituneslive.co.nz
kidsafe.biz
macbook.com.tw
macbookair.com.cn
macbookpro.us
powerbook.biz
pushpin.mobi
streamquicktime.com
velocity-engine.com

As you can see Apple owns .MOBI’s, .BIZ’s, .AT’s, .INFO’s, the whole gamut and they’re constantly acquiring more names. So if you think Apple doesn’t get domains, think different, and if you’re thinking about buying or registering a domain with an Apple Trademark think again.
