Venture Beat: Latest trends: Creative branding with a .Me domain name

Venture Beat out with a post today on the .Me extension. The post is actually a sponsored post by the .Me Registry.  Using Venture Beat as a platform the article wanted to give special mention to what start ups are doing with the extension.

From the article: However, it’s the startups that push the envelope on creative domain name use and understand ways to stand out from the competition – starting with the URL. Ranging from Kiip.me, a mobile rewards and advertising company that raised over $15.3 million funding to date, to Glide.me, a 2013 TechCrunch Disrupt Startup Battlefield finalist, these young entrepreneurs are putting the “me” in “memorable.”

You can read the whole article here.

Its nice to see a registry take some pro active measures to market its extension. I think .us domainers would love to see the registry do something like this.  If it can be about ME why can’t it be about US ?

I like seeing what start ups and individuals are doing with the .me and other extensions. It’s great to see people think outside of the box. I also agree about the .us extension and see awesome potential for being creative with it and using it in good ways. It helps that Google started ranking and classifying some ccTLD’s the same as gTLD’s. I hope to see .us on that list in the near future. I think the concept of us as a whole is a great way to use the .us extension as well.
