Video Blog Entry #1: SEO in 2009 – Google and Intent-Based Search

Welcome to my new Sunday tradition – a VLog or video blog entry about what I think is a hot issue right now in the Domaining community. It is very important for Domainers to understand how their search engine rankings will change with Google’s new search algorithm so I made this the topic of my first VLog entry. With a focus on intent-based or personalized search Google will now use your past browsing history to determine your search results.

Suppose you are searching for “buy BMW” – Google will use IP look-ups to determine where you are and deliver BMW dealerships in your area. Sites with video and audio content will also be given preferential treatment as Google’s Universal Search feature can search in video and audio files as well as standard text webpages.

Enjoy the video – I hope it will inspire you to take a look at your own portfolio and optimize for the changes that Google is making. If you can stay ahead of the pack there are some incredible opportunities for Domainers with Google’s new search algorithm!
