Weekend Musings

Hello, happy Sunday, and welcome to my weekend musings. It has been a rainy weekend here in LA but it looks like the sun is coming out today and we are just about to hop on our bikes and hit the beach for some breakfast. Even though it rained this weekend that didn’t stop us from having a great time, from live Jazz, to rock and roll, to the new Bond movie – Skyfall. Below is a photo from the Jazz show we saw at a brand-new spot in Venice:

jazzOn Monday we are headed to the Bay Area for meetings in San Francisco and Silicon Valley followed by Thanksgiving with the family. Our first Fashion Metric shipments to our alpha users are going out and we’re learning more every single day. If there is one thing we have learned over the last couple of months it is that to do a startup right, you need to be full time. I think this is probably true of most things but nights and weekends won’t cut it, you need full days and, like a normal person, you need at least one weekend day for R&R. Life is all about balance and after working days, nights, and weekends I can tell you we’re both much happier now!

The week after next we’re headed to NYC for more Fashion Metric meetings and then to Boston, never a dull moment!

On the domain front, Linton Investments has a new salesperson starting next week that will be focused on phone sales. This brings the full team up to 18 and something tells me we’ll hit 20 by the end of the year as I’m also interviewing a writer next week who looks like he’s going to be an absolute ace! Two more good end-user sales last week along with one more that looks like it will close this coming week, November is looking like a great sales month and there’s still another two weeks to go!

Now it’s time for a bike ride and then and afternoon at home getting ready for the week ahead! I hope you’re all having a great weekend, as always feel free to share your musings below or comment on any of mine!

Hitting 20 staff will be really exciting, it sounds like you’re doing really well! Congratulations, and have fun in the valley (I wish I could be there)

I played playstation til the early hours like I used to in my teens, was good fun now that I have high speed Internet and can play online. Otherwise watched Youtube videos about the Mayans and videos about food security, will start my own vegetable garden in the unused space in the back yard. Domain wise, Rick Schwartz leasing domains is a great idea, however I do not have category killer domains like him, but will make do with the few generic and keywords I have.
