Weekend Musings

Fashion Week

Hello, happy Saturday, and welcome to my weekend musings! We are on the plane now after an amazing week at New York Fashion Week. Fashion Metric was one of the sponsors for Nolcha Fashion Week and it was a blast seeing the runway shows and connecting up with some amazing designers and other awesome people in the fashion world.

When we’re in NYC our schedule is normally packed but with Fashion Week it was even more packed than usual. There wasn’t a single night where we got more than 3 hours of sleep and I can honestly say I’m probably the most exhausted I have been since college…and it was absolutely worth it!

NYC

I wanted to give a huge thanks to Raymond from Hybrid Domainer for filling in for me for most of the week and writing his usual awesome posts. I am very excited to finally having a few weeks in one place and while I love NYC, there really is no place like home.

On the domain-front we finished negotiating the biggest lease deal we’ve ever closed for a client. It took a lot longer than we expected but big deals do tend to take a long time. I also had a couple of domains sell from my own portfolio one of which I’ll be announcing on Facebook soon, the others were requested to be kept private by both the buyer and the seller which I’m finding to be the norm.

Y Combinator

This week we also started working with some teams from Paul Graham’s Y Combinator and I’m excited about helping some really incredible startups get the domains they are looking for. Linton Investments is adding two new brokers to the team since my full time focus is Fashion Metric I’m continuing to hire and grow our team in LA and both of these brokers will be based here.

Okay, only an hour of battery life left and about 300 emails to go which means…back to emails! I hope you’re all having a great weekend, as always feel free to comment on any of my musing or share some of your own!

Sounds like a very productive week as usual Morgan 🙂 what was the biggest fashion takeaway for you from the Show? 🙂

That’s great about the lease deal – looking forwarding to closing one in the next 2 months or so – patience I’m learning 🙂

Love that you’re working w some of the Y Combinator teams – they’re lucky to have you on their side:)

Thanks @Cate! Always appreciate your kind words!

I think one of the biggest takeaways is the use of color and patterns coming up for Summer/Spring 2014. This will be a nice change from the grey/black trends that have dominated fall.

Hope you’re having a great weekend and hello from me and Daina!

    Hi Morgan,

I can not do more weekend reflections, and I have enough work for sale priced domain name TLDs I’ll give out this next week.

One of my thoughts is no longer possible domainer qiue once sold all my domain names here for six months, and so will all start and end the domainMBA course, it is always interesting to see something you’ve never known how to function and can valid for the Digital Marketing Investment in Spain to start as a freelancer the next October, start-up when staff must be more money and this is worth the money and have to say before full box to meet to work for your brand and for my company.

This consultation process is a fact calculated by a simple question. having or not having a start-up in New York as you known you for days for next semester 2014 best value professional domainer to have an agent to know the U.S. market and participate in all negotiations for buying and selling to do in Las Vegas, Florida, New York and throughout the year.

I have to record over 300 new domain names. Com and other extensions Tlds ccTld but not as prices start gTLDs that can be booked be already through the roof, the pitch is new for everyone if write Rick “King Domain “, many believe it will be a waste of time out in the world market such bestial extensions, I can not be prepared for it, and few domainers small investors like me or can not meet, the best of all. com

If you are new to the course and what will come after the new gTLDs to panic, wait and see, we waste time, but many times occur delas backwards and not go well for you to be confident to be those who already have trademark own worldwide, these win for sure, the other is to have contacts in a market that I not be present, that is the question

Morgan, Until the 18th at 7:00 pm waiting for your call or written by Skype.

    Best,
