Weekend Musings – Morgan Linton and Ty Lawson

This week has been a dream come true. After more than a year of hard work Daina and I released Appraiso and it has been an unbelievably exciting week watching people register and use the system. It has also been pretty exciting to see all the great articles about the service, and of course the questions and challenges that are aptly due to any company making an appraisal service.

Today we discovered a great post by a Flippa user that put a major focus on Appraiso when evaluating a purchase on Flippa. In this case Appraiso helped spot a potential scam which is exactly what we like to see. While the accuracy of appraisals is incredibly important to us, helping people avoid scams is equally important to us.

Colorado Domainers

I was in Colorado this week and had a chance to hang-out with my buddy Mike Law who runs NameTalent and meet two other Colorado Domainers. We had a great time together and I would like to thank all of them for their hospitality, I really did feel right at home in Denver!

We also happened to go to the same bar that the Denver Nuggets were partying after their game. The shot above is me with one of the Nuggets star players Ty Lawson – highlights from the game (with Lawson in it) were actually playing on the TV above. Oh and for those wondering we asked Ty if he owned is own name, and he does.Along with the Appraiso launch this week I also sold three domains and someone bought a $1,600 Kayak trailer on Kayaking.org which brought in $115 of affiliate revenue on a single sale. Kayaking.org has had a great start to 2012 and we recently made email addresses available for purchase so paddlers around the world can have an @kayaking.org email address!Domaining Europe is coming up and I can’t wait for the show! If you’re a MorganLinton.com reader and you’re coming make sure to let me know – your first beer is definitely on me!The Santa Monica condo hunt continues, today we looked at one of our top choices which is located at the corner of Ocean Ave. and Montana Ave. in Santa Monica. Tomorrow is Sunday which means – Sunday Opens, from 1:00 – 4:00 we’ll be hopping from condo to condo. The whole process has been a lot of fun and Sunday Opens have become a nice weekend routine. We are also going to be fostering a cat so that Samsie has a buddy and there’s one less cat at risk of being sent to a kill shelter. Since we both love cats and we have a cat that loves all other animals, we think it will be a great fit. I hope you all are having a great weekend, as always feel free to comment on my musings or share your own weekend musings below!
