What domain name conferences do you go to?

I went to my first domain conference in 2010, it was TRAFFIC in Vegas (here’s the recap…scroll down and you’ll see young me!), and like most Domainers learn right-away, it was amazing to be with a group of people that would actually enjoy talking about domain names. Yeah, it’s no secret that we’re a niche group, and while people will always be happy to talk about news, sports, the weather, new movies, etc. domain names just isn’t a normal topic of conversation.

Unless of course you’re a Domainer, or in the domain industry, and then it’s what you love to talk about…but probably have almost nobody to talk to about it. Sound like you?

Indian Domain Summit just wrapped up (here’s a look back from DNJournal) and MERGE is coming up in mid-September. I’m always interested in hearing what shows people choose to go to and why they go. In the past TRAFFIC and DOMAINfest were my go-to, now if I can make it to Florida I love MERGE (The Domain Conference) and NamesCon makes sure I get to Vegas at least once a year, and that’s pretty much all I have time for given my schedule.

So let me pass the mic over to you, what are your go-to domain conferences/events? I want to hear from you, comment and let your voice be heard!

    Hi Morgan,

I talked with you a few weeks ago.

I am spending some time building a few domains just to do affiliate programs.

Obviously I’m building the sites myself for now so nothing to sophisticated.

I have cryptoconferencecenter.com and would like to build it one day when I get money to have some great designers help out.

I think it would be a great place to have online conferences.

    Thanks for the post.

Morgan…i just sent you an email of introduction. I’ve been involved in this wacky and crazy industry for less than a year, but I’ve made some good industry contacts. One of those contacts is Jothan Frakes who sponsors the Merge Conference in Florida next month. Unfortunately it’s a little too rich for my blood, but just as soon as I attract an experienced partner, or sell a few more of my domains like Focus.golf, I’ll need to hold off, but I hope to get to NamesCon in 2019. I’m working on a project right now that involves the 50,000 business lawyers in America who are partially responsible for helping to start the 5 million new businesses that need names each year. Maybe I’ll be able to share the progress I’ve made with other domainers in Vegas. Thanks Morgan, and it’s great to meet you.

Finally…about Focus.golf…when you hear what Brooks Koepka attributes his success to at the 2.5 minute mark in the followning YouTube video, you’ll see why I need to stay “FOCUSED” myself.

sohail roshni:i am guessing the indian summit is more focused on the .in domain market.
i think namescon vegas is the show i would attend,
    better networking.

None. Cant afford it, plus I cant fly. Also, the only one I really want to go to is in the Winter and thats just too cold to travel even if I could fly and afford to go. I wish there were more local conferences – local to everyone — meaning more frequent and smaller conferences in many cities around the USA.
