What is your go-to domain registrar?

I’m not sure why I haven’t done this in the past, but I should do it more often. What I’m talking about is asking you, my readers, a question that applies to just about every single blog reader. To kick things off I’ll start with one that is critical for anyone that buys, sells, or owns domain names. I’m talking about domain registrars.

Of course it’s not fair for me to just ask the question and not give my opinion, so I’ll start, and I don’t have one so I’ll give three (which you can do too!). My favorite registrars in no particular order are: NameCheap, Uniregistry, and Go Daddy.

I’ll also go a step further and tell you why:

NameCheap

NameCheap – I love NameCheap for three reasons – great prices, great support, and a great UX. Also I have an incredible amount of respect and admiration for NameCheap’s founder Richard Kirkendall. Not only is Richard transparent in sharing insights into his business and the time and energy he puts into it, but he also gives back to charity, to the domain community and to his team who I know feel the same way I do about him. Great companies are build by a great team led by a great leader and Richard has definitely set the bar high, very high.

Uniregistry – I’ve said it before (many times) and I’ll say it again, I love Uniregistry for the same reasons I love Apple, seamlessly beautiful UX and a platform that was built by Domainers for Domainers. What I really love about Uniregistry is that they are always trying new things that haven’t been done before. Like NameCheap, Uniregistry is also led by someone that I have a ton of admiration and respect for – Frank Schilling. Everyone I know who has worked with Frank has nothing but great things to say about him, and having known him for years myself, I can say the same.

Go Daddy – there are two main reasons I love Go Daddy – top notch security, incredible support. Seriously, Brett Meyers my account manager at Go Daddy is the reason why I love them so much. Brett has gone above-and-beyond for me more than any other account manager at any other company I have ever worked with. Also once you meet other people at Go Daddy like Paul Nicks and Joe Styler you can tell that it is a top notch organization. Can you tell I’m passionate about Go Daddy?

Okay – now it’s your turn. Comment and let your voice be heard!
