Where Do You Sell Most Of Your Domains?

I haven’t done a reader survey in a while so I thought now would be a good time to ask you one of the most-asked questions in the Domaining world, “Where do you sell most of your names?”

I will get things started by answering the question myself. I sell most of my names to end-users, real people who want to use a domain to build a real business on. While I also do sell some of my names to Domain Investors like myself this does represent a minority of the revenue dollars I bring in from domain sales each month.

If you’d like to learn more about how I sell domains to end-users, make sure to check-out my Domaining MBA Monday series on selling domains to end-users which you can access directly below:

Now it’s your turn, where do you sell most of your domains?

I sell most of my domains either by contacting end-users or they contact me through whois/contact link from parking page. I avoid selling domains to resellers.

The best I can do is to tell you where I have my domains listed for sale – Sedo, and soon, at Afternic.
I’m currently spending a majority of my time on website development.
However, after reading your 3-part series in selling to end-users, I’m motivated!

So far I have sold to end users by using the strategy of approaching owners of domains, relevant to my domain for sale, found on the first few pages of Google/Bing organic and PPC.

I have made many sales to end users through Sedo.com, most likely through its landing pages on my domain names. However, right now I am testing Afternic.com (much higher CPC income but no sales transactions yet). Other than that, I have made sales through buyers contacting me through my WHOIS information. That’s it at the moment.

Glad to be able to say that after some of my more recent sales, my domain hobby has turned profitable (cash profit = cash from a few domain sales – cash expended on all my domains thus far). So, my hobby is transforming into a business. Time to raise the stakes by buying higher quality domain names.
