Will Wise.io sell for more than $10,000 on Park.io?

Wise-io domain

I remember the good old days when buying .IO domains on Park.io meant shelling out $99 and competing in auctions against thin air. Back then when I told other domain investors I was buying .IO domains, they looked at me like I had just told them I was buying magic beans by the truckload.

For me, 2014 was the year that .IO really caught my eye. We were going through the Techstars startup accelerator and as I met more founders, I came across more .IO names. In my conversations with other founders that were rebranding, I quickly learned that .IO was at the top of their list next to .COM.

Sure, it could have been a fad, but now, six years later, we can all see it wasn’t. Today .IO has secured itself as one of the top investment-grade domain name extensions sitting pretty next to extensions like .NET that used to be the go-to when a .COM was taken.

As companies have flocked to .IO domains, domain investors have too, and that means that Park.io, the top marketplace for buying expired .IO domain names has been on fire 🔥

So it comes as no surprise that today I saw Wise.io is about to break $8,000 with 57 bids, and there’s still almost two days left in the auction. I think it’s more than likely that Wise.io will break $10,000 and honestly wouldn’t be surprised if it went into the $20k+ range.

As for the retail price for this domain? I’d put it in the $50k – $100k range, or at least if I owned it that’s what I would be asking for it. What do you think it’s going to sell for and what do you think it’s worth?
