Hong Kong Here I Come!

I am very excited to leave for Hong Kong tomorrow where I will be covering the Asian Film Awards sponsored by Dot Asia. For those who are not familiar with .Asia, this is an extension geared towards all of Asia and is being used more and more throughout the region!

As a ccTLD Investor I see incredible potential in this market. While technically .Asia is considered a gTLD since it is targeted for a geographic region so I consider it a ccTLD for all intensive purposes.

Many businesses have a presence across Asia and buying a .Asia domain is a great way to own your brand across the entire region. With countries like Korea boasting one of the highest broadband penetration rates in the world you can understand the incredible benefit to having a .Asia domain.

I was a very early investor in the .Asia space acquiring my domains during the Sunrise period. This is a space I think will grow dramatically over the next few years and I’m looking forward to being in Asia and seeing the TLD in action!

I would like to give a HUGE thanks to the Dot Asia registry that was kind enough to invite me to attend this event. I have been given the incredible opportunity to film on the red carpet at the Asian Film Awards which is essentially the Oscars of Asia!

So get ready for some exciting blog posts as I report live from Hong Kong! Of course when I get back home I’ll be editing my footage and publishing some incredible exclusive content I’m sure you’ll all enjoy!

If you haven’t had a chance to check-out Dot Asia yet you should definitely take a look at their site and see all the great ways people are using the .Asia extension to build their businesses and brands across Asia!

Whoa… I though that you would moderate my comments. You have my permission to remove both these comments. I just wanted to let you know about the grammar above.

Have fun in Hong Kong. If you are not inspired to work hard and build wealth after spending time in that city you don’t have a pulse.

That’s really interesting news Morgan, hopefully .Asia would start picking up soon. Philippines is just a few hours away, so if you do have time do drop by, do let me know It’ll be great to be able to meet with a fellow domainer.

Don’t get me wrong, I think this would be an amazing trip and would jump at the chance but I really can’t see any correlation between domaining and filming the Asian Film Awards. Either way, you’re going to have fun and that’s all that matters

Just shot you an email – I am in Shenzhen, China, city next to Hong Kong. Hopefully we get a chance to get together for a drink or meal so we can get into a heated argument over whose domains are better :-p

Actually Shane, there is. Dot Asia is a regional Domain organization aiming to promote the usage of internet through .asia. So it makes sense that promoting the ASian Film Awards to be sponsored by one of its regional …community.

Interesting! You gotta love when bloggers get active. Have a great time out there, regardless of the correlation between dot-asia and the film awards the fact that a domainer was invited to cover such an event shows media appeal. Morgan is taking it to the next level! 🙂

    Keep it up!

Not to mention Morgan said he sees incredible opportunity for .Asia and sees it as a “CCTLD”. Most of us would love ot hear that from any other investment group, like parked.com.
